Dr. Walter Gonsoulin, superintendent of Jefferson County Schools (JEFCOED), was named the 2025 AASA National Superintendent of the Year. The award was announced on March 6, 2025, during the AASA National Conference on Education. He is the first superintendent from Alabama to receive this prestigious national recognition.
